What this page covers
Rather than a generic list of "types" of cookies, here's exactly what LOKALDEKO stores in your browser, and why. We don't run any advertising or cross-site tracking, and we don't have a cookie-preferences panel — everything below is either required for the Site to work, or a single, clearly-labelled analytics tool.
What we store to make the Site work
Location cookie
When you set or allow a shopping location (through the location picker on the homepage), we store it in a cookie named lokaldeko_location, containing the city, region, and coordinates you chose. This lets us show you nearby inventory without asking again on your next visit. It expires on its own and is never shared with anyone outside LOKALDEKO.
Sign-in session
If you create an account and sign in, we store your sign-in tokens in your browser's local storage (not a cookie, technically, but the same idea) so you stay signed in between visits. Signing out, or clearing your browser's site data, removes it.
Guest cart
If you add items to your cart before signing in or checking out as a guest, we store that cart in your browser's local storage so it isn't lost if you navigate away. It's cleared once your order is placed, or if you clear your browser's site data.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how people use the Site — which pages get visited, roughly how much traffic we get, and so on. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (typically named things like _ga and _gid) to do this. We don't use this data to identify you personally, and we don't combine it with your account information. You can read Google's own explanation of what it collects at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
What we don't do
We don't run advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any cross-site tracking. We don't sell or share cookie data with data brokers or advertisers.
Your controls
Because everything above is either functional or a single well-known analytics tool, we don't have (or need) a separate cookie-consent panel on the Site. You're always in control at the browser level:
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies from their privacy or security settings. Blocking the location cookie just means we'll ask for your location again each visit.
- Clearing your browser's local storage for lokaldeko.com will sign you out and clear any guest cart you have in progress.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Changes to this policy
If what we store changes, we'll update this page. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle the information itself, not just where it's stored.
